General Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Logistics and Procurement Officer to manage and coordinate the organization's logistics, procurement, and supply chain activities. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient and cost-effective procurement of goods and services while maintaining optimal inventory levels and timely delivery of materials.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Procurement Management:
- Plan and execute procurement processes in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and obtain competitive bids for goods and services.
- Prepare purchase orders, review requisitions, and monitor the procurement cycle from order placement to delivery.
Supply Chain Coordination:
- Coordinate the movement of goods, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to project sites or designated locations.
- Monitor inventory levels, track stock movements, and manage warehouse operations.
Logistics Planning:
- Develop logistics plans, including transportation, distribution, and route optimization.
- Coordinate the transportation of goods, arrange shipments, and manage customs clearance procedures.
Vendor and Supplier Management:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and service providers.
- Monitor vendor performance, quality of goods, and adherence to delivery schedules.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and organized procurement and logistics records, including purchase orders, contracts, and delivery receipts.
- Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, inventory levels, and supply chain performance.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and challenges in procurement and logistics operations and develop mitigation strategies.
Capacity Building:
- Provide training and guidance to staff involved in procurement and logistics activities.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in procurement, logistics, or supply chain management.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, vendor management, and supply chain best practices.
- Proficiency in procurement software, inventory management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
