Job Overview
Our Company is looking for a Customs Clearance Coordinator to provide day-to-day administrative support with readily available advice customs and trade compliance activities to provide clearance of freight documentation through the relevant customs authorities inline with Company strategy and objectives, corporate guidelines and policies
Requirements:
1. Hold a good Bachelor’s degree
2. Ability to work with the ASYCUDA system, basic knowledge in Customs Clearance & URA
3. Candidate must be below 28 Years
4. Relevant working experience in this field and familiar with Uganda Customs system
Duties and Responsibilities
∙ Coordinate and control when the goods are dispatched ∙ Liaise with Customs legal counsels to check Export controls and licensing requirements
∙ Determine and track duties, taxes payable and process payments on behalf of the Company
∙ Prepare customs documentation and ensure that shipments meet all applicable laws to facilitate the import and export of goods
∙ Liaise with customers, suppliers, necessary agents and customs authorities to address any issues/questions arising from business activities
∙ Check invoices for both import and export brokerage and liaise with the brokers to resolve any invoice issues and with the finance staffs to resolve invoice and payment issues
∙ Support the high volumes of data entry on spreadsheets
∙ Ensure insurance claims are given to the claims department immediately
∙ Manage any other ad hoc tasks as and when required and instructed by the Line Manager
Skills, Experience and Competencies
∙ Working experience of Exports/Imports & Customs Compliance and regulations (at least 2 years’ experience)
∙ Knowledge of customs requirements
∙ Experience in road transport, logistics or haulage (Desirable)
∙ Proficiency in Microsoft packages especially Ms Excel
∙ Ability to prioritize and organize workload with attention to detail ∙ Ability to work independently and as part of a team ∙ Flexibility with Working hours
