Job Details:
Application are invited from suitable job seekers to fill up the position of Medical Laboratory Technician (1). He or she will be responsible to Head of Laboratory and Diagnostics and responsible for Medical Laboratory Assistants at C.O.U Bwindi Community Hospital. a)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Carrying out analysis on laboratory samples.
• Plan and budget for laboratory activities.
• Participate in disease surveillance and investigation of epidemics/disease outbreak.
• Manage laboratory resources and data.
• Ensure quality assurance.
• Care and maintenance of laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Ensuring Health and safety in the laboratory.
• Ensure safe disposal of laboratory waste.
• Plan continuing education for self and colleagues.
• Participate in operational and clinical research/studies
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
• Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology and Registration with relevant council.
• Training in laboratory quality management systems (LQMS), Biosafety and Biosecurity,
• Knowledge of computer use (basic applications)
• Must be able to consciously uphold hospital core values.
• Must be able to work effectively with diverse team members and stakeholder.
