Purpose of position
The AEGIS Spatial Repellent (SR) Study, seeks to hire a field coordinator to supervise field teams and activities of the study in Yumbe district, including; sensitization of stakeholders at the district and in the refugee settlement; installation of SR in households, including oversight for VHT SR installations, ensuring all logistics and transport for data collection activities are available in time, including copies of informed consent forms in appropriate languages, study logs and forms, sample storage and transportation forms etc. In collaboration with the study coordinator, lead regular meetings with the field team to ensure smooth running if the field activities. Support data cleaning in collaboration with the study coordinator, data management team and investigators, and prepare and share regular progress updates with the study coordinator and investigators.
Key Result Areas/Outputs
• Clear workplan for all field activities and logistics secured in the field
• Ensure all SR installation, including VHT SR Installations are accurately completed
• Timely and accurate completion of all study forms and logs
• Provide meeting minutes of regular field study team meetings and actions addressed
• Weekly progress updates shared with study coordinator
Qualification Required
Qualifications and other desirables for the job:
• A Bachelors’ degree in the humanities, a Masters’ degree in Public Health or health related field is an added advantage
• Evidence of GCP and HSP training,
• Experience conducting research in malaria or other infectious diseases
• Experience managing data collections
• Excellent written and oral communications skills
• Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under stringent deadlines and to work independently
