Job Summary
The global health security program at Baylor Uganda works closely with the Ministry of Health, other MDAs, District local governments, and collaborating partners to improve Health Security and Build International Health Regulations Core Capacities in prevention, detection and response to public health threats. The program seeks to engage and maintain a pool of deployable surge volunteers in various temporary assignments and locations across a range of thematic areas to enrich careers while contributing to the Global Health Security Agenda.
Overall Responsibilities
• Under the overall guidance of the Surveillance Lead, and working closely with MoH/ government of Uganda counterparts at all levels and collaborating partners, the surge volunteer will provide technical assistance to improve Early Warning, Alert and Response System/IDSR and AMR surveillance systems improvements, establish/maintain collaborative networks involving local, subnational and national stakeholders and liaise with other programs and departments.
Required Qualification, Experience and Competencies:
• Minimum of MPH, MSc Epidemiology or bachelor’s degree in a health-related field with at least 2 years of experience in infectious diseases and AMR surveillance, points of entry and border Health; IDSR; sentinel surveillance;
• 2 Years Relevant Experience
