Job Details:

Job Summary:
• The Back-up Hub Rider will be called-up to support transportation of laboratory specimens and test results from and to designated health facilities served by the project supported Laboratory hubs as and when required.

Specific duties and responsibilities.
• Support transportation of laboratory specimens and test results for Viral Load, EID, TB GeneXpert, CD4, CBC, Chemistry, and histopathology tests, including samples/test results from/to health facilities served by the hubs, within the recommended specimen age and defined Turn Around Time (TAT).
• Support electronic tracking of Laboratory samples and test results from lower health facilities through the hubs, using a mobile Application software (ResTrack).
• Maintain proper records for motorcycle mileage and submit monthly fuel accountabilities through the hub coordinator to the USAID-LPHS-EC project Administration Officer.
• Ensure regular maintenance of the Laboratory hub motorcycle in liaison with local service providers (garages) and ensure proper use and safe custody of the hub motorcycle in compliance with MoH/NHLDS hub operational guidelines.
• Support redistribution of essential laboratory commodities within district, and other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Minimum qualifications, and Job requirements.
• The position requires a person with at least Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or its equivalent. UACE or higher qualifications will be an added advantage.
• Possession of a valid riding permit at the time of recruitment is mandatory.
• Experience in motorcycle riding, and knowledge of motorcycle maintenance.
• Good knowledge of road Safety and traffic regulations.
• The person should possess good knowledge and skills for proper handling and transportation of infectious and hazardous substances.
• Previous experience with PEPFAR funded programs.
• Good people skills and ability to work under minimal supervision.
