• To interest and recruit potential farmers into barley growing
• To register potential farmers and report on acreage available for barley production from season to season
• To requisition for the required farming inputs including seed, fertilizer and other agrochemicals and ensuring that they are effectively distributed and records documented
• To train growers on good recommended agricultural practices
• To ensure adherence to key harvest and post harvest handling practices
• To ensure quantity and barley quality targets are achieved from season to season
• To stay abreast with developments in research and technology to ensure growers are evolving from time to time
• To facilitate farmer institutional development and group formation and advise on measure to increase production
• Ensure weekly and monthly reporting requirements from management are met from time to time
• Promote sustainable farming practices
